My name is Chanté. I am a Curtis Method Hypno-Doula serving women in Taos and its surrounding areas in New Mexico.

“A Doula is a mother’s mental, physical, and emotional assistant as she prepares, mind and body, for an incredible birthing experience.”

Since my own birth, video recorded, (throughout which my mother was eating a popsicle), I have been interested in how I could help other moms and their babies have an easier, more relaxed birth. I believe my own birth instilled a belief that birth is easy, natural, and nothing to be afraid of. The best thing my Mom taught me was to believe in your own body, relax your mind, and allow your body to do the work.

I have had five babies myself. Through trusting the body and relaxing the mind, giving birth has been such an enjoyable experience for me. I believe every mother should be able to come away from her birth knowing she was an active, strong, and vital force deserving of the love, support, and respect of the medical staff, family and friends no matter what path her birth journey takes. I’ve supported the birthing goals of multiple women and couples during the birth of their babies (including VBAC) in the hopes of helping them have a more memorable birth experience.

I have been assisting others for 28 years, since the age of 17, when I became a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I know how to monitor vital signs and I’m familiar with medical procedures and terminology.

Birth is a natural process and with the proper support the experience can happen with grace and ease no matter the course. I’d love to assist you in your unique birth journey! Fill out the form below to get started.
